When we plan a hike through the Barranco del Infierno<\/strong>, in Adeje, South Tenerife, we always ask ourselves the same question: what should we bring to fully enjoy the experience without setbacks?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This trail, one of the most spectacular and popular in the island, immerses us in a protected natural space with unique landscapes and a medium-low difficulty route that deserves our best preparation.<\/p>\n

\"\"Essential Gear to Pack<\/h3>\n

  1. \n

    Proper footwear:<\/strong>
    The terrain in the Barranco can be slippery and rocky, so we recommend hiking boots or trail shoes with good grip and ankle support.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Comfortable, breathable clothing:<\/strong>
    Technical fabrics are ideal. In summer, long-sleeved but lightweight clothing is perfect to protect us from the sun.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Sun protection:<\/strong>
    A hat, sunglasses and high-SPF sunscreen are a must. Most of the route is exposed to direct sunlight.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Plenty of water:<\/strong>
    The trail is about 6.5 km round trip, and there are no refill points. We suggest bringing at least 1.5 litres of water per person.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Light snacks:<\/strong>
    Fruit, nuts or an energy bar can help us regain strength along the way.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    ID and entry reservation:<\/strong>
    Access requires a prior booking. Don\u2019t forget your ID or passport and the booking confirmation, either printed or on your phone.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    Charged mobile phone:<\/strong>
    Even though some parts of the trail have no signal, it’s important to carry a fully charged phone for safety.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  8. \n

    Small first-aid kit:<\/strong>
    Blister plasters, painkillers and insect repellent might save the day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  9. \n

    Comfortable, lightweight backpack:<\/strong>
    Ideally with chest or waist support, so the weight doesn\u2019t bother us during the hike.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Camera or binoculars (optional):<\/strong>
    If we want to enjoy birdwatching or take beautiful pictures, we shouldn\u2019t forget these items.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
